Unsubscribe.com uses a proprietary scoring algorithm to assess an application's Access Level. This score is determined by the permissions the application is requesting and the potential harm the application can do with that level of access to your and your friends' data and potentially the ability to act on your or your friends' behalf.
Unsubscribe.com determines the reputation of an application based on the developer of the application's ability to protect personal information and their history with handling this information. This criteria is based on a combination of items, including privacy protection, protection of children's information, ability to contact the developer, performance and history across other applications, user feedback, and other criteria. From this score a reputation is defined which will either be Green, Yellow, or Red.
This column indicates the last time the application accessed your data. If an application has been inactive for more than 90 days Unsubscribe.com recommends its removal.
Unsubscribe.com takes into account the application's access level, reputation, and last access date to determine a personalized recommendation for whether you should keep the app or remove it.
If you have any questions or suggestions for our recommendations, please email us at support@unsubscribe.com. Be sure to mention the name of the application in question.
Please report these apps to support@unsubscribe.com so that we can review this application's behavior and take appropriate action.
Currently the only way to turn off the social analyzer is to uninstall or disable the Unsubscribe browser extension. We will be adding more options to the extension in the near future to allow you to disable specific features.
Unfortunately we weren't able to Unsubscribe you from an e-mail that "Needs Attention". These e-mails usually require personal information and/or a login for us to effectively unsubscribe you. In these cases you will need to attempt to manually unsubscribe. As we continue to improve our system we will expand our abilities to handle these as well as put these companies on notice if we find they are in any way violating the CAN-SPAM Act.
You can choose to File a Complaint against a sender who potentially violates CAN-SPAM laws by not honoring unsubscribe requests, making it extremely difficult/impossible to unsubscribe from their messages, or other such potential infractions. By clicking the complaint button, the email will be forwarded to one of our specialists who will take further action to ensure that you’re removed from the unwanted mailing list.
Remember, you can always forward your unwanted e-mail to mail@unsubscribe.com and our system will process it. HINT: Add a contact in your address book for Unsubscribe.com and it will come up instantly when you go to forward the message.
Our buttons allow you to set a preference as to whether or not you'd like to delete your unsubscribes. Please check to ensure that you have this option checked in the Preferences for your appropriate button. If you do have it checked and the problem persists, please refresh your browser.
This typically happens if a connection error is occuring when we are attempting to either retrieve the message from your e-mail provider or when we are sending the message to the Unsubscribe servers. In most cases, refreshing your browser or trying again will remedy the issue. If the problem continues, please contact us at support@unsubscribe.com.
If you cannot access your account, ensure that you are using the correct e-mail login that you used to sign up for Unsubscribe.com or reset your password. HINT: Your Username is the e-mail address you used to sign up with.
Check your "Deleted Items" or "Trash" folder. If the message is in there, you can move it back to your Inbox. If you are worried that Unsubscribe.com is going to Unsubscribe you from the message, please contact support at support@unsubscribe.com.
Although we've done our best to not affect your e-mail program it's possible that there is a conflict with some other plug-in/extension/add-on. To verify, please uninstall the Unsubscribe button and see if the issue persists. In either case, please contact support at support@unsubscribe.com.
If you unsubscribed less than 10 days ago, please remember that marketers have up to 10 business days to honor your Unsubscribe request (we know this is annoying, and would love for it to be instant - we're working on it!). If you are receiving e-mails past this period, the marketer is most likely violating the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003. In this case, please let us know right away at support@unsubscribe.com so we can begin to take proper action against them.
